Child Advocacy Center Visit

As part of our mission to equip minds and nurture hearts to transform the world for Jesus Christ, HC works to provide students with the knowledge and skills to guard themselves in this fallen world. Part of HC’s commitment to student safety is providing counsel and resources for sexual abuse prevention and intervention from the Children’s Advocacy Center. Please see the attached informed consent letter for more information. The Children’s advocacy center will not be sharing any videos during their lessons at Holland Christian.

If you have any questions about the content of the presentation, we encourage you to reach out to the Children’s Advocacy Center. If you would like your child to not participate in the presentation, please fill out this form at least one week prior to the presentation date. HC will anticipate participation unless they receive a submitted opt-out form.

Our class presentation will happen on December 10 @ 8:20 AM.  January 8 @ 8:20 AM

School Closings and Delays Due To Weather

Winter will be arriving in West Michigan before we know it and with this comes snow - lots of snow!!

With this snow comes School Closings and School Delays. Here are some details to help prepare you and your family for this:

If Holland Christian Schools has a TWO (2) hour delay school will start at 10:15 AM.
If Holland Christian Schools is closed due to weather there is NO SCHOOL for that given day. Delays and Closings will be communicated through the email and phone numbers in your child's PowerSchool account.  They will also be posted on major TV networks (Wood TV 8 - WZZM - FOX17),  as well as social media (Facebook and Instagram)

Please remember to use your best judgement when it comes to traveling in the snow as conditions change through out the day and different areas in Holland can also have different weather. If there is school but you feel that it is in your best interest to stay home please feel free to stay home.  Contact the office to let us know not to plan on you that day.

Inside Gym Shoes

With the weather changing and it being wet outside - would you be willing to send an extra pair of gym shoes to keep in your child's locker?

Please put your child's name inside the shoe - in the case it gets misplaced.

Snow Gear

With the weather changing it will not be long until the snow is on the ground.

I wanted to let you know that your kindergartener will be going outside during every recess. Please make sure your child comes with all their snow gear every day there is snow on the ground.

I also ask that you label the inside of all this items as many of our friends have the exact same pair and it will help me get them to the correct person if they get mixed up. This includes:

Warm Coat
Snow Pants
Boots
Hat
Mittens

If you would like your child to keep their snow  pants and/or boots at school because you have extras at home, will you please let me know that and then I will not send them home at the end of each day.

PLEASE make sure to bring another pair of shoes for wearing inside school. I will have students leave these in their locker as well.

Kindergarten Cookie Sale

Kindergarten Cookie Sale
Thursday - December 11

The Kindergarten classes are getting excited for our annual Cookie Sale, which is coming up on Thursday, December 11th! This year our proceeds will go to the Chan family. NoƩ and Kathlyn Chan, along with their two daughters Haddie and Alizah, are missionaries in Guatemala, serving God by using their gifts in art and physical therapy. They became friends with Maestra Klipp Lopez while her family was serving in Guatemala, and we are so excited to come alongside and support their family!

We will need LOTS of hands for this amazing project! Would you consider providing cookies for our sale or offering your time to help us make cookies in class?
